Anote’s Ark

(Sundance Film Festival) The film opens with an absolutely gorgeous view of the low lying Pacific nation Kiribati.  This film is so much more effective in trying to open the discussion of climate warming and the effects it’s having than either of Al Gore’s movies.  The human effect, nations disappearing.  Believe or don’t believe, weather is changing and it’s not good at all.  Seeing the change first hand married with a heart wrentching personal story, this film will give you pause to consider what’s going on out of your immediate purview.  Beautifully filmed,  although a bit too long, this film is worth a view when it’s available to stream.  Snuggle up, be thankful for what you have and discuss your thoughts.  Date’ish movie to spark the want to do something.
