L.A. Times

LA Times

Saw this at Sundance Next Fest and the writer / star was introduced as the female Woody Allen.  I suppose the rambling style, self awareness, and observations of relationships might give one cause to agree.  Like Woody Allen, his films are hit and miss, this one is a miss for me.  It reminded me of the late 80’s early 90’s movies that didn’t have much of a plot but looked at 3-4 relationships all at one time.  While the topic and conclusions might be interesting, it’s  slow and painful to go through the story for somewhat predictable jokes and attempted twists.  For those looking to explore the psychology of relationships with some humour, could be interesting.  But, for entertainment and date night, it’s a pass.
