Marjorie Prime – Had the pleasure of being at the world premiere of this film. Always enjoy watching strong performances despite the challenges of the script and small struggle with direction. As I’ve mentioned before, transitioning a play to a movie can be tricky. Geena Davis, Tim Robbins and even John Hamm make it seem so easy and are wonderful to watch. However, Lois Smith seems to still be on the stage. Editing is a bit abrupt, as though there are scene changes vs the smooth flow typical of a film. Subject matter is thought provoking. It’s classified as a comedy but, didn’t quite see it that way. Sorry, not date night worthy. Watch with a nice glass of wine.
