I’m confused, was this supposed to be a movie or vignettes for advertising. Murder mystery wrapped up in style reminding me of Mullholland Drive. It’s interesting but…why? Amy Adams is her standard doe eyed wanna make you think there’s more going on behind her eyes than there is self. Jake Gyllenhaal provides a standardly good performance. The villains and sheriff are great but it’s the films style that overpowers and takes you of the story expecting perfume, cigarettes or clothing to be the advertised. Sure it could be date night as a compromise if you must.
